Project Overview
Moviease is an app transforming the moviegoing experience. This project is the buildout of its responsive website and taking the app to web form . Its core mission is to streamline and improve the moviegoing process by providing straightforward movie ticket booking and seamless food pre-ordering options. With a user-centric approach, this platform strives to deliver a hassle-free and efficient way for audiences to enjoy movies both in-app and on the web.

What I Did
For this product, I was the sole UX/UI designer. This included: conducting user interviews, crafting wireframes and prototypes, executing usability studies, prioritizing accessibility considerations, and continually refining designs through iterative processes.

Exploration
In this stage, I delved into understanding the landscape of the moviegoing experience. This process involved identifying potential gaps in the market, which paved the way for crafting a problem statement and potential solution to address real user needs with Moviease.
Problem
Busy students and professionals struggle with limited accessibility, convenience, and time-efficiency when queuing for movie tickets and concession foods during their moviegoing experiences.
Solution
Developing a movie theater pre-ordering website that enables patrons to book tickets and food in advance, providing a hassle-free and time-saving experience that allows users to skip the lines and enjoy their movies.

During this stage, my leading assumptions were confirmed: users prioritize speed and simple navigation. Research also revealed that accessibility and convenience, especially for those with mobility needs, hold equal significance in the moviegoing experience.

These findings aim to create a more inclusive, time-efficient, and user-friendly moviegoing experience, catering to a diverse user base, including those with busy schedules and accessibility needs.

User Journey
After identifying specific user needs to refine Moviease’s core priorities, I moved into creating the main user flow. This involved outlining the primary user journey and structuring information architecture through wireframes.

For an intuitive user interface, my main focus was on crafting a streamlined and clean flow. The aim was to provide swift access to the core order process with an intuitive movement within it.

Once the main user flow was established, I proceeded to structure the content to ensure intuitive navigation.
Wireframes - Low Fidelity
I prioritized a clean and clear design in my wireframing approach, creating a distinct hierarchy that guides users smoothly through the main flow. This ensured a user-friendly interface with an emphasis on ease of use.
Responsive Web Design
For this responsive website, I prioritized a seamless, intuitive transition between devices. This ensures effortless navigation for users on any device through the primary user journey. My approach encompassed utilizing a mobile-first build, emphasizing key sections like “Get Tickets & Food” in the navigation, and creating a uniform, readable, and touch-friendly UI.

Style Guide
My vision was to present a clean, user-friendly layout to ensure a seamless experience. This style guide was developed to maintain a consistent and visually pleasing identity across various devices.

Testing & Iteration
User testing was an integral part of my design process, aimed at creating a user-friendly experience and uncovering potential challenges in the primary user flow. Testing revealed a crucial need for comprehensive ‘Next Steps’ instructions for users, detailing ticket delivery and theater arrival procedures. This stands in contrast to the Moviease App, where ticket and food order information is easily accessible with a single click on ‘View Order.’ In response, I introduced a ‘Notification Agreement’ during user contact info submission to enhance transparency regarding information usage and provided detailed next-step guidance on the payment confirmation screen.

Moviease paves the way for a hassle-free moviegoing experience for all users. By catering to the diverse needs of users, Moviease ensures a straightforward and smooth movie experience that offers accessibility and efficiency to everyone.
